Scottish executive follow Defras lead on Skate conservation

The Scottish executive has agreed to follow Defras lead on Skate conservation. That in essence means it will be illegal to land any common Skate over 85cm which equates to 25lb. Although not exactly what we wanted it will stop any commercials from targeting the Common Skate anywhere in Scotland and any caught over 25lbs. on long lines for the Spurs should be returned unharmed and I believe is a significant breakthrough.
